Welcome

Captain Muir Townsley

“Welcome to the Dumfries and County Golf Club (The County). Hopefully, through this site, we will show you enough information to encourage you to come and enjoy the clubs excellent facilities. This club is recognised as one of the finest parkland courses in Dumfries and Galloway and the South West of Scotland with previous visitors citing the superb greens that we maintain along with the warm and friendly hospitality that we offer. The course is fully charted for navigation devices giving you an excellent opportunity to record a low score.

The Club will be celebrating its Centenary in 2012 when a week of activities will take place in mid May culminating with a Centenary Dinner. The Bar, Lounge and Dining areas will soon undergo a refurbishment, in time for the new Season starting, which will improve our facilities to Members and Visitors alike.

Our visitor level is high with a majority of visitors returning year on year.  Already our bookings are filling up for 2012 so don’t delay, contact our Secretary for helpful advice towards organising your day.  Full instructions relative to booking a visit are available within this site and for those who want to book now should use the online tee booking system.  A very warm welcome will be given to all visitors past and present and I look forward to meeting with as many of you as possible.

The Dumfries and County Golf Club is a privately owned parkland course situated on the outskirts of the town of Dumfries (Scotland), yet less than a mile from the town centre.

The club website has been developed to allow both members and visitors the opportunity to access relevant information about the club history, the course and the golfing facilities. All pages can be accessed from the menu system towards the top of each page and there is a full site map at the bottom of every page.

On this comprehensive website you can access details about the golf club, view photographs of the course and clubhouse, access strokesaver images of each hole, print off a card of the course and experience the club from our recently commissioned aerial video footage (please check it out).

Competitive golfers can access the current fixture list and enter Open Competitions by printing off a copy of the entry form. Along with details of competition draws and competition results, handicap and scoring information can be accessed from the How-Did-I-Do website. The club committee continues to investigate and implement new on-line services to keep you up to date with relevant information and a welcome message and information on the Principal Committee Members and staff can be found on the web site.”
